Message from the Chair
This Web site is one of the ways we are establishing a closer connection with potential and current students, colleagues and friends. Its purpose is to describe our faculty and their capabilities and achievements, especially those that have impacted the medical community through research and development. We are proud of the department and invite you to see a glimpse of us via the World Wide Web.
The department strives to create a world-class research environment that is fostered in an atmosphere of collaboration, support and appreciation for the many aspects of biological and molecular research that encompass the fields of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience. Consistent with this goal, our faculty has a broad array of research interests in molecular and cell biology, systems physiology, biophysics, pharmacokinetics and toxicology. We are also pleased that, over the last three years, our faculty has been awarded grants from many agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Agriculture, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association and the American Chemical Council.
These grants will allow us to continue to build our research and teaching programs in the coming years.
We hope the information here is of assistance to you. If you would like a tour of our physical facilities, please call Rahkiya James-Lynn, Director of Administration, at (973) 972-8688. She will direct your call to the appropriate individual. If I can be of any help to you, please feel free to contact me.
With Warm Regards,
Andrew P. Thomas, PhD
Professor and Chair
