Summer Student Research Program
INTRODUCTION:
The Summer Student Research Program provides an eight-week research experience for Rutgers New Jersey Medical School incoming 1st year and rising 2nd year medical students, as well as undergraduate students enrolled in our combined BS/MD seven-year program. Students accepted into the program are rquired to participate in research activites during the eight week period. On many occasions this has been the students first research experience. Participation allows students and unpaid interns to develop a close working relationship with their mentors.
After completing eight-weeks of research in the respective laboratories, students are required to present their research outcomes at the Summer Student Research Program Closing Ceremony held in late July. At the closing ceremony students will present a PowerPoint presentation (5-minutes/individual & 10-minutes/group) on research their outcomes during the eight-week period.
