Congratulations, Medwings!

Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences presented the 2014 Winter Classic Charity Hockey Game featuring Rutgers New Jersey Medical School's Medwings vs. Rutgers School of Dental Medicine's Bitewings. The event raised $14,500 for the Sean Hanna Foundation and will go toward helping pediatric cancer patients and their families. In the past two years, this fundraiser has collected $22,000 for worthy causes.

Scores of fans came out this year to watch the teams -- consisting of students, residents, physicians, dentists and professors -- square off at Newark’s Prudential Center AmeriHealth Pavilion — home of the New Jersey Devils. New Jersey Medical School's Dean Robert L. Johnson, MD, and School of Dental Medicine's Dean Cecile Feldman, DMD, initiated the game with a ceremonial puck drop. Medwings took the win with a four-point lead. The final score was 7-3.
