Medical School Scholarships: Double Impact in 2022 RBHS Scholarship Match Campaign

Medical school scholarships help those who aspire to careers in the medical profession handle the high cost of medical school. The 2022 RBHS Scholarship Match Campaign doubles the impact of donor gifts to medical school scholarships.

Gifts to the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) go even further than usual. The 2022 Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) Scholarship Match Campaign is matching donors' gifts toward scholarships at the medical school.

To inspire NJMS faculty and alumni staff to give, Chancellor Brian Strom is dedicating up to $1 million of RBHS resources to match gifts dollar for dollar (up to a maximum of $50,000) through December 31, 2022—or whenever the match is met. Gifts can be designated to any new or current scholarship fund, including the NJMS Scholarship Support Fund. The matching program doubles the impact of every gift.

"By making a gift toward medical school scholarships at NJMS, donors' help secure their professional futures—and the future of the profession," says Mary Ruotolo, the NJMS Director of Development who is heading this initiative.

Donor generosity will have a significant and immediate impact on NJMS students. Costs can be overwhelming and often deters otherwise promising candidates from entering the profession. While scholarships can help offset this financial burden, they require annual support from generous donors.

Those interested in making a gift are invited to contact Mary Ruotolo (Mary.Ruotolo@ruf.rutgers.ed) at the Rutgers University Foundation or visit give.rutgers.edu/match.
