University HospitalUniversity Hospital is the main teaching hospital of the orthopaedic training program. As the New Jersey State Trauma Center, this hospital provides the principal training in the management of multiply-injured patients and major orthopaedic trauma in both children and adults. Despite this focus, all orthopaedic subspecialties are well represented here, including a major portion of the training in hand (trauma and reconstructive), musculoskeletal oncology and adult reconstruction. The hospital also contains the Orthopaedic Learning Center which has an extensive hard copy and electronic medical library. In addition to a large orthopaedic outpatient facility in the hospital, the campus also houses the Doctor's Office Center, with most of the faculty's offices and a very active outpatient surgery center. Under faculty supervision, the residents are integrated into all ambulatory activities on campus. The adjacent medical school is the site of the core didactic program and The school also houses the orthopaedic research laboratories where a major portion of the basic research occurs. Clinical research facilities are also present here as well as anatomy laboratories, where residents perform and demonstrate dissections. In addition, residents rotate with their attending faculty teams to the office at Overlook (MAC) and participates in outpatient surgery.

Christ Hospital is a private institution with an active clinical faculty who provides major educational exposure in Community Orthopaedics focusing on Adult Reconstruction and Total Joint Replacement, Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy, and Spine. There are well-attended and supervised general clinics and Orthopaedic clinics in Total Joint, and Sports Medicine.
