The administrative office of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is located in the University's Administrative Complex, indicated on the map below as location (1). Parking is available in the adjacent lot, parking lot (9).

From New Jersey Turnpike, North or South:
Take exit 15W to I-280 West to the Orange St./6th St. exit. Make the first right onto Orange St. and proceed one block to First St. Turn right and proceed about half a mile to West Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Follow the parking directions below.

From The Garden State Parkway, North or South:
Take exit 145 to I-280 East. Stay to the left to exit at First St. Turn right on First St. and continue across W. Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Follow parking directions below.

Parking on the Newark Campus:
Continue straight on Bergen St. to the traffic light at South Orange Ave. Turn left and at the first light, turn left into the University complex and metered parking in Lot 1. Alternatively, there is some additional metered parking in lot 48, adjacent to the G.F. Smith library.

From Route 78, East (From Newark International Airport, use Route 78 Westbound):
Take Exit 56, Elizabeth Ave. & W. Peddie St. and bear right to take the Peddie St. ramp. At the bottom of the ramp turn left. Go about two-tenths mile and turn right onto Bergen St. Proceed about one-and-eight tenths miles to South Orange Ave.

Turn right on South Orange Ave. Take the first left turn onto the campus to park in the Cancer Center parking garage or turn left at the next light into Parking Lot 1, at the Behavioral Health Sciences Building and Medical Sciences Building (MSB).

For valet parking or the Doctors Office Center parking garage, continue straight on Bergen St. University Hospital is on the right. Proceed past the hospital and turn right at the Doctors Office Center sign. Bear left for self-parking in garage (hourly rates); bear right for valet parking at entrance to the hospital.

For parking near the Administration Complex at the GSBS office, continue straight on Bergen St. across 12th Ave. and take the first right into parking Lot 9.

From Route 78, West bound (From Newark International Airport, use Route 78 Westbound):
Take Exit 56, Elizabeth Ave. & W. Peddie St. The ramp curves right to a light on Elizabeth Ave. Turn left at the light onto Elizabeth Ave. Turn left at the next light onto W. Bigelow. Proceed one half of a mile and turn right onto Bergen St.

Proceed one-and-four tenths miles and turn right on South Orange Ave if you are going to the Medical Science Building (MSB). Take the first left onto the campus to park in the Cancer Center parking deck or go to the first light into Parking Lot 1, at the Behavioral Health Sciences Building and MSB.

For parking near the Administration Complex at the GSBS office, continue straight on Bergen St. across 12th Ave. and take the first right into parking Lot 9.

From New York City:
Take the George Washington Bridge or the Lincoln Tunnel to NJ Turnpike to Exit 15W. Follow directions from the NJ Turnpike. Or take the Holland Tunnel to the NJ Turnpike (exit 14) to Route 78 W. Follow directions from Route 78 W.

Directions to the International Center for Public Health (ICPH):
From the Rutgers campus on Bergen St., heading North, turn right onto West Market St. (or turn left if coming from First St. off Route 280 East). Bear left as you approach a firehouse to get on Warren St. Continue through the traffic light, which is at the intersection of Warren St. and Norfolk St., and make the first left onto Newark St. The entrance to the building is on the right side. Visitors’ parking will be built on the left side.

Mass Transit:
PATH and Amtrak rail lines and New Jersey Transit buses and trains serve Penn Station in downtown Newark, about a mile from the Rutgers campus. The #21 and #34 buses stop at the campus. Taxi service is available to and from Penn Station and Newark International Airport.
