Teacher Training Internship - MSBS 5125Q (1-3 credits; 30 hours/credit) S/U grading

The Internship is open to Masters and PhD students. An interview with the course instructor and instructor approval are required for enrollment.
The course provides a mechanism for students to gain academic credit for participation as a teacher's aide/tutor for high school students taking a college preparatory biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics course. Activities at the high school may involve in-class or after-school tutoring, delivering short lectures on topics covered in the class (not required), grading assignments, assisting with laboratories. Students are expected to keep track of their time, which is confirmed by their high school teacher-mentor.

Final Report

After completing the internship, students should submit a 3 to 5 page double-spaced report describing and reflecting on their experience.
