Korean Learning and Mentoring Community (KLMC)
Description: Korean Learning and Mentoring Community (KLMC) is an cultural student organization that introduces Korean culture and language to NJMS students and faculty. We provide mentoring and networking opportunities through initiatives aimed at teaching Korean and hold events that celebrate Korean culture. Through participation in our organization, students will create relationships with Korean NJMS faculty in a variety of different specialties and learn to communicate with patients in Korean.

Latino Medical Students Association (LMSA)

Description: The Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) is a vibrant community of future doctors passionate about celebrating Latino culture, uplifting one another, and advocating for health equity. We host everything from cultural galas and community service events to mentorship programs and national conferences. Whether it’s salsa dancing after exams, volunteering at health fairs, or building lifelong friendships, LMSA is about family and culture!
Events Held: LMSA La Gala, Cafecito and Chisme, LMSA/SNMA Potluck, Salsa Classes, Tapas and Trivia, Mixers with neighboring LMSA's

Student National Medical Association (SNMA)
Description: SNMA is dedicated to supporting underrepresented minority medical students, meeting the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of physicians who are both clinically skilled and culturally aware, with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Events Held: SNMA hosts events that connect students with resources, promote wellness, and offer insights through interest and specialty panels. We also provide guidance on transitioning to clinical years and residency.
Additionally, SNMA’s mentorship programs offer ongoing support to underclassmen, ensuring they receive continuous guidance throughout their medical education.
Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)
Description: NJMS APAMSA is a branch of the national organization of that is committed to addressing the unique healthcare roles and challenges of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI). Our mission is to spread awareness about AANHPI culture, practices, and various traditions as well as addressing health issues like culturally sensitive treatment.
Events Held: Provide medical mandarin classes to the students, celebrating significant Asian holidays and APA heritage month with the students to raise awareness of Asian cultures.
NJMS Muslim Students Association
Description: The Muslim Students Association is a community organization dedicated to educating both Muslim and non-Muslim students about Islam. We welcome all NJMS students to participate in our activities. The MSA also collaborates with local organizations to engage with the broader Muslim community. Alongside educational efforts, we host events like Ramadan iftars and Eid celebrations to foster community and cultural

OUT at NJMS
Description: We are the LGBTQ+ student organization at NJMS. We provide mentorship opportunities for students, residents, and
faculty. We also provide shadowing opportunities at UH. Lastly, we hold an annual pride flag raising event on the NJMS campus.
Events Held: The main event we hold is the annual flag raising event to kick off pride month.
This occurs at the end of the academic year and we hand out frozen ices to all on campus.
Additionally, we purchase and distribute small items such as bracelets, pins, and flags.
AAPI
Description: AAPI is a student-run branch of the national organization that promotes health issues, initiatives, and service within the South Asian community. Our AAPI chapter aims to foster a sense of community at NJMS through events showcasing South Asian culture. SAHI is a branch of AAPI that aims to use this community to raise awareness of common health issues facing the South Asian community throughout New Jersey.

Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA)
Description: Bringing the hope and healing of Christ to the world through healthcare professionals.
We are a club combining medical and dental students designed to be a place of fellowship, encouragement, and community.
Specifically with the intent of serving with one another in glorifying God.
Events Held: Weekly bible studies. Big meals/fellowship time every couple of months. Worship nights.
MENA MedLink

Description: MENA (Middle Eastern & North African) Medlink Club at NJMS is a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and diversity of the Middle East and North Africa. We foster community among students through cultural, educational, and social events, while promoting inclusivity and awareness of MENA heritage within the NJMS community.
