The graduate program in Cell Biology and Molecular
Medicine offers the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree through the
Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
The department is committed to understanding the molecular mechanisms
of disease by bridging the gap between physiology and molecular biology.
PhD students on the Cell Biology, Neuroscience and Physiology (CBNP) track have the opportunity to rotate and participate in cardiovascular graduate research, and ultimately present a thesis.
The graduate program involves course
work focused on cell biology, seminars by world-renowned guest speakers,
and journal club meetings, to keep abreast with the most advanced development
in research. After successful completion of the course work, students may select an advisor among
the faculty of our department to begin full-time
thesis research. Students will have the opportunity to choose a research
project among many areas of cell biology and molecular medicine,
including physiology, functional genomics, proteomics, developmental
biology, cell biology, and cell signaling. A study room is available
in the department where our graduate students
can meet, read, or relax.
More information is available in the guidelines
of the department and the website of the Graduate
School of Biomedical Sciences. Applications to the Departmental
Graduate Program are made through the Graduate School of Biomedical
Sciences. Admission
information and application
form are available in the website of the Graduate
School of Biomedical Sciences. |
