Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR)

Our residency program offers the Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway for residents interested in pursuing training in the field of interventional radiology. Residents who receive this distinction can match directly into a 1-year Independent Residency in interventional radiology (previously known as the IR fellowship). We offer two spots per year for this pathway and interested residents can apply to the program at the end of their PGY-3/R2 year. Residents accepted to the program by review of a committee will take part in additional interventional radiology and related rotations during their R3/R4 years, including SICU and vascular imaging training.
