University Hospital (UH) is the primary training site for the NJMS Radiology Residency Program. There are over 40 residency and fellowship programs at the UH which also serves as the primary training site for medical students from the New Jersey Medical School. University Hospital is the busiest Level 1 Trauma Center in the State of New Jersey. It is also home to several nationally acclaimed Centers of Excellence including trauma-instensive care, Acute Stroke Center, New Jersey Cardiovascular Institute, Neurosurgical intensive care unit and Center for Skull Base Surgery, Neurological Institute of New Jersey, and one of the nation's top liver transplant and orthopaedic oncology programs. The Department of Radiology provides both a rewarding inpatient and outpatient experience for residents.
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey at University Hospital (CINJ-Newark). The Cancer Institute houses an integrated Women's Imaging Center comprised of multiple digital mammography, stereotactic biopsy and breast ultrasound units.
The Doctors Office Center (DOC) is an adjacent outpatient imaging site located adjacent to University Hospital. The residents experience is similar to that of an outpatient private practice radiology setting.
The Center for Advanced Practice Imaging, across the street from UH, houses a PET/CT suite which provides additional outpatient imaging experience for residents.

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) is a 665-bed quaternary care, teaching hospital that provides comprehensive health care for the region. The facility is home to one of the nation’s top 10 heart transplant centers and New Jersey’s only Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program. It has a robust cancer center providing seamless integration of cancer prevention, specialized care and treatment options. The Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at NBIMC, includes a PICU, NICU, Pediatric Emergency Department, and multiple pediatric subspecialties, providing trainees with a robust pediatric radiology education. NBIMC is located approximately 3 miles away from University Hospital.

Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) is a fully accredited acute care hospital and offers a comprehensive array of services including advanced cancer care, sophisticated neurology and neurosurgery services including a neuro-interventional lab, and one of the largest kidney transplant programs in the United States. The Breast Center at the Ambulatory Care Center is one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive breast diagnostic centers. CBMC is located approximately 10 miles away from University Hospital.
