Pozen Award

The Pozen Award is available to select students in good academic standing at NJMS who wish to enhance their educational experience by service-learning. Very few global health projects are selected for this award and the project must demonstrate a clear impact on the target community. Students should apply directly to the Office of the Dean of New Jersey Medical School.

Rutgers-USAID Research and Innovation Fellowship

Travel abroad on a paid fellowship to participate in collaborative projects that apply scientific research and innovation to complex development challenges.

 

Fogarty International Center/Ellison Medical Foundation

A fully-funded one-year clinical research training experience for graduate level U.S. students in the health professions.

CDC-Hubert Global Health Fellowship

IThe CDC-Hubert Global Health Fellowship is available to medical students to gain a global perspective of public health through an experiential learning opportunity.

IDSA Medical Scholars Program

Infectious Disease Society of American Education and Research Foundation offers summer scholarships to medical students in U.S. medical schools with mentorship by an IDSA member or fellow. The scholarship activity must focus on pediatric or adult infectious diseases and may involve either clinical or research activities.

Has a funding sources section that lists available scholarships for international work.

A comprehensive database of international health opportunities.

National Medical Specialty Societies

This is a comprehensive list of national medical specialty societies (with their web sites). Many societies offer funding for students doing work in their field. For instance, the American Academy of Pediatrics has two - four $500 scholarships each year for pediatric students and residents doing electives abroad.
