Minority Student Association (MSA) of SGS-BHS, Newark

About Us

The Minority Student Association (MSA) is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive community for graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in the biomedical sciences. Our mission is to celebrate diversity, promote awareness of different cultures, and provide a space where students can thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

Through mentorship, advocacy, and events, the MSA strives to create a welcoming environment for all students while addressing the unique challenges faced by minority groups in graduate education. We encourage mutual support, cultural exchange, and professional networking among our members.

Our Purpose

The MSA aims to:

  • Cultivate a sense of belonging and empowerment for minority students
  • Advocate for equal access to opportunities in education and career development
  • Celebrate the rich cultural diversity of our graduate community through events andinitiatives
