Urban Health Track
HIV Primary Care Track
Categorical Internal Medicine Program at Rutgers NJMS
The HIV Primary Care Track is the newest track in our program, started in July 2023. As the climate of primary care practice expands to include specialty or niche services, our training program evolves to accommodate these changes. The HIV Primary Care Track activities provide dedicated HIV medicine experience, beyond what is received in the usual outpatient Categorical Internal Medicine curriculum. The goal of this track is to expose residents to and ensure competence in the management, preventive care, and socioeconomic challenges of patients with HIV.
Curriculum
Residents in this track will have 25% of their continuity clinic time scheduled in the Infectious Disease clinics at University Hospital. Track participants have the privilege of directly following up patients with HIV to address their unique needs. As part of this experience, residents will learn.
