The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Rutgers NJMS is the only ACGME approved Otolaryngology training program in the state of New Jersey, and is a major tertiary referral center for patients from throughout the state and surrounding areas. We have an active and dynamic residency training program for future Otolaryngologists. We also encourage medical student participation in clerkship rotations during their third year of medical school, and acting internships for fourth year medical students.

Our educational program is a reflection of our dedication to high-level patient care and to training future Otolaryngologists who are prepared to handle complex problems with state-of-the-art treatment strategies. Our residents are trained to practice evidence-based medicine, taking into account both past experience and the most recent medical literature and clinical trials.

We have a rich schedule of weekly Grand rounds lectures, resident lectures, and conferences designed to meet the continuing educational needs of our residents, faculty, and community Otolaryngologists. In addition, our department hosts a number of valuable educational symposia and courses available to residents and physicians both at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as well as the surrounding community and other academic institutions.
