Parking for the DOC:
Parking is available next to the Doctor's Office Center (DOC) at 90 Bergen St. on the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Campus in Newark, NJ. This parking deck can be accessed by entering into the main entrance of University Hospital on Bergen St. This parking lot is the closest lot to the outpatient offices. There is another parking deck located next to the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) at 140 Bergen St.
Directions to the DOC:
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is located in the Doctor's Office Center (DOC) at 90 Bergen St. on the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Campus in Newark, NJ. We are located on the top floor of this building as a part of the Neurological Institute of New Jersey.. This building is next to University Hospital's main entrance at the intersection of Bergen Street and 12th Avenue.
From The Garden State Parkway:
Take Exit 145 to Route 280 East. The left 3 lanes of Route 280 East become exit lanes for First Street, you will take the First Street Exit and make a Right on to First Street. Proceed down First Street towards the UMDNJ Campus, make a Right turn at the 4th traffic light (12th Street) and enter the DOC Parking Garage. Our offices are located adjacent to the parking garage.
From New York City:
Take the George Washington Bridge or the Lincoln Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike. Take exit 15W (I-280 West) to the Orange Street/6th Street exit. Make the first right onto Orange Street and proceed one block to First Street. Turn right on to First Street and proceed to the 12th Street intersection. Make a Left on to 12th Street and enter the DOC Parking Garage. Our offices are located adjacent to the parking garage.
From Route 78, East or West:
Take Exit 56, Clinton Ave., and turn left at the second light (W. Bigelow St.). Go about three-tenths miles and turn right onto Bergen St. proceed about one-and-three-fourths miles to 12th street. Take a right onto 12th and enter the DOC Parking Garage. Our Offices are located adjacent to the parking garage.
Mass Transit:
PATH and Amtrak rail lines and New Jersey Transit buses and trains serve Penn Station in downtown Newark, about a mile from the UMDNJ campus. The #21, #31 and #34 buses stop at the campus. Buildings closest to those routes are: #31 (4,5,11,13); #34 (2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) #21 (1,2,3). Taxi service is available to and from Penn Station and Newark International Airport.
From I-280 West:
I-280 West to the Orange St./6th St. exit. Make the first right onto Orange St. and proceed one block to First St. Turn right and proceed about half a mile to West Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Take a right onto 12th and enter the DOC Parking Garage. Our Offices are located adjacent to the parking garage.
From I-280 East:
Take I-280 East to Exit 13 (First Street). Stay to the left to exit at First St. Turn right on First St. and continue across W. Market St., where First St. becomes Bergen St. Take a right onto 12th and enter the DOC Parking Garage. Our Offices are located adjacent to the parking garage.
