Female Pelvic Medicine and
Reconstructive Surgery

Associate Director: Pierre Lespinasse, M.D.

The division of urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery is responsible for being the physician and surgeon for female pelvic floor disorders. These disorders encompass bladder problems such as infections, dropped bladder, stress and urgency incontinence. Also, uterine and vaginal vault prolapse are treated by these physicians. The division performs physical exams and urodynamic testing to diagnose these urinary tract and pelvic disorders.

If surgery is deemed necessary it will be performed by one of these well trained and experienced surgeons. Many times surgery may not be necessary and the patient's symptoms can be controlled with medications, pessary supports or physical therapy.
