The
General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division is the professional caregiver
to women throughout their lives. This includes pre-teen, teenage girls,
women in their reproductive years, pre-menopause, menopause, post menopause
and senior years.
The
General Obstetrician and Gynecologist is the physician administering
obstetrical and prenatal care, labor and delivery, as well as postpartum
care (except for the very high risk patients who go to the maternal
fetal medicine specialist). The gynecological aspect of this specialty
is concerned with routine annual visits (including physical exams, breast
exams, Pap smears, mammograms and bone density studies. A large part
of the practice is preventive care, immunization, birth control and
women's health.
The
gynecologist is also the physician and surgeon for a wide variety of
female disorders such as sexually transmitted diseases, vaginitis, abnormal
menses, acute and chronic pelvic pain, fibroid uterus, pelvic floor
disorders, endometriosis, and infertility.
The
members of the generalist division are all Board Certified obstetricians/gynecologists
with many of them serving as Board Examiners for the American Board
of Obstetrics and Gynecology. These physicians are all recognized medical
educators and dedicated clinicians. These clinicians offer the most
modern and up-to-date medical and surgical gynecologic care in the Northern
New Jersey area.
